Third year selection recognizes restaurants across Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Texas’ culinary scene is once again in the spotlight with today’s release of the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Texas, marking the Guide’s third year recognizing standout restaurants and the chefs, pitmasters and restaurateurs behind them.

Fabrik in Austin and Goldee’s BarBQ in Fort Worth were both promoted to One MICHELIN Star. Additionally, Kappo Kappo in Austin joins the selection with One MICHELIN Star. With these recognitions, Texas is now home to 19 MICHELIN-Starred restaurants.
The recognition continues with six new restaurants being given a Bib Gourmand for great food at great value. Sixteen new restaurants join this year’s selection as recommended eateries. The full selection includes 149 restaurants with 30 cuisine types represented throughout.
“Over the past three years, the MICHELIN Guide has given travelers another reason to explore Texas through its food,” said Tim Fennell, director of Travel Texas. “From restaurants carrying forward generations of Texas culinary traditions to chefs bringing new perspectives to cuisines from around the world, the recognition reflects the depth travelers can experience here. We’re proud to see Texas’ culinary story continue to reach travelers from around the world.”
Since debuting in 2024, the MICHELIN Guide Texas has brought increased attention to the breadth of the state’s dining experiences. This year’s selection builds on recognition for restaurants ranging from celebrated barbecue establishments and tasting menus to neighborhood favorites representing diverse cuisine styles.
“This year marks another standout year for Texas with three new MICHELIN Stars being awarded,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the MICHELIN Guide. “Over the past three years our anonymous Inspectors have watched the culinary talent across Texas flourish and continue to push boundaries, which is evident in this year’s restaurant promotions. Congratulations to the entire restaurant selection. Your commitment to high quality and culinary excellence has been proven again and again.”
